April 2002 ~ 12 women, twelve months, endless possibilities. Another project is just beginning and we all feel that it will have a major impact on our lives, and if successful, the lives of many women. I have wanted to collaborate with other artists for many, many years, and it is finally happening. A circle of women, artists, peers – the realization of a dream. The images on this quilt came from a vintage photo of six friends. I printed them on archival paper and framed them against the aged background fabric. The rust will continue to grow and the work is bound to become ephemeral with age, but I think things improve with age. I know I have. My marriage improves with age – 31 years this month. Many of the paths I am on have come together this month and the journey is becoming more purposeful, more direct. I feel more confident with every step, that the effort is indeed taking me where I want to go. The joy of it is that there are so many new adventures along the way when you move in the direction of your dreams.
